Internships with High Focus Centers

High Focus Centers is proud to offer practicums and internships for undergraduate and graduate students at many of our locations throughout the United States. These placements can encompass summer, fall and spring semesters in order to ensure that our interns get a full and well-rounded internship experience.

As part of the internship, students are assigned to work closely with a specific program, team and track, and are actively integrated into the multi-disciplinary treatment team in our inpatient and outpatient programs, as well as other organizational departments such as marketing, human resources and finance. Placements can include the adult co-occurring program, adolescent co-occurring program and/or the adult chemical dependency program.

Gain Experience

Throughout their site experience, clinical graduate level interns are able to co-lead and then independently lead educational and skills groups, individual sessions and assist with documentation. They are also able to work collaboratively with a qualified clinician on case management, family sessions and treatment planning. The placement is heavily group focused and interns with the goal of the student being able to leave the site with a strong knowledge of group work, individual work, work with a multi-disciplinary team and a strong understanding of the population with which they served.

Medical assistants and nursing candidates are also encouraged to apply for behavioral health clinical rotations at select inpatient and outpatient locations at High Focus Centers.
